Widex Allure Delivers Unmatched Clarity and Confidence for Illinois-Based Hearing Care Specialist

Working in hearing care has always been personal for TJ Goebig, a Hearing Instrument Specialist at Audiologic Services in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Living with hearing loss in one ear since childhood and developing it in the other in early adulthood, Goebig has worn many brands of hearing aids throughout his life and career, but none have delivered like Widex Allure™.
“As someone who lives with hearing loss, I can choose what hearing aids I wear, and every time I try something else, I end up going back to Widex,” Goebig shared. “With Allure, I don’t have to compromise on fit, comfort, or performance. It’s simply a different experience, and my patients are noticing the same.”
Since the launch of Widex Allure, Goebig has fit nearly a dozen patients with the device, including several who historically struggled to find hearing aids that met their needs. One long-time patient, Monica, had worn multiple brands over the years with limited success – until Allure. “She came back after a couple of weeks and told me for the first time, she could finally hear clearly in restaurants. That kind of progress is huge.”
Another standout success was with John, a minister who faced significant challenges hearing his congregation after services. “He used to constantly adjust settings to focus on people speaking in front of him,” Goebig said. “I told him to just let Allure run automatically. At his follow-up, he said it was the first time he could understand everyone clearly without changing a thing.”
Goebig attributes this dramatic improvement to the new Widex W1 chip and Allure’s ability to reduce background noise without sacrificing sound quality. “These hearing aids adapt in a way that others just can’t. They sound clear and natural, even in noisy environments – and that’s what every patient wants.”
That clarity was powerful enough to sway one of Audiologic Services’ most discerning patients of more than 20 years. “He always insists on taking hearing aids home to test them before making a decision,” Goebig recalled. “But after I fit him with Allure, he turned around before leaving and said, ‘I can already tell these are different. Just go ahead and order them. I’ll pick them up in two weeks.’ That’s something I’ve never heard from him before.”
Ease of use is another highlight. Goebig praises the AI-powered Compass™ Cloud software for streamlining fittings and follow-ups. “The calibration is fast, and the first-fit settings are usually spot on. It’s simple, quick, and doesn’t require constant updates. I can use it anywhere, and it just works.”
What makes Compass Cloud stand out, according to Goebig, is how drastically it improves workflow without compromising clinical precision. “There’s no need to worry about installing software or troubleshooting updates. Plus, it helps me complete fittings faster, which means I can spend more time listening to my patients and less time making adjustments. The software just gets it right, right away.”
He also noted that follow-up visits have become more efficient. “Patients are coming in happier with their initial fits, so we’re not spending appointment after appointment fine-tuning like we used to. That saves time, builds trust, and improves satisfaction.”
After years of helping patients navigate hearing loss, Goebig sees Widex Allure as a major turning point, not just for his practice, but for the entire industry. “If you’ve got a patient who’s been difficult to fit, try the Allure. Let them hear the difference. It’s been a resoundingly positive experience for us and for the patients. It’s life-changing.”
