The importance of hearing aid ear-tips
Our recent study shows that the same ear-tip can have substantially different acoustic properties in different ears. That’s why Widex developed a new set of ear-tips for Moment RIC hearing aids. These ear-tips were designed to improve the fit and comfort of hearing aids for users of almost all ear shapes and sizes.
To measure their effectiveness in real-life clinical practice and diverse ear types, Widex conducted another study to see what 15 hearing care professionals (HCPs) and 41 end-users thought about the new hearing aid ear-tips.

With the new recommendations, HCPs reported a high overall satisfaction with ease of fitting, with none reporting dissatisfaction. New recommendations may save time for the HCP and result in a more comfortable and effective fit for the patient.
- Satisfied HCPs, happy patients
HCPs consistently prefer the new ear-tips - and patients are happy too. They gave top ratings for comfort, placement, and sound quality.
- More options
The new ear-tips provide a wider range of options for patients with different ear canal shapes and sizes. With the addition of the Sleeve power, Sleeve vented and Round open ear-tips, HCPs can now provide a better fit for patients who may have previously had difficulty with traditional ear-tips. This can lead to improved comfort and satisfaction.
